Article Synopsis – In a new paper, economists argue that we need to urgently act on climate change by committing to a steep carbon tax that will encourage countries and businesses to reduce emissions quickly. The authors found that “if the world procrastinated on a carbon price by just one more year, the damages from climate change would climb an additional $1 trillion.
